The King Wen sequence: A series of mistakes Part 2

Nice work. We'll just take the finishing pieces and place them... How do you mean they are lost? Please bring me the original bagua circle.
Let me see... It's not good.
This is the "Later Heaven" bagua. Find me the other one.
Or... maybe we can finish the sequence using these core hexagrams.
The red one looks like the perfect finishing piece.
And the other three? We can't place them because they are already in our sequence.
The blue one is on the third place from left in the second row, the green on the sixth place from left in the first row... and the second row is now longer than the first. What if we distributed the middle elements wrong?
Let's check the upper row now: The green one is on the sixth place from the left, and the yellow one is on the sixth place from the right. This must have some significance. I'll mark these hexagrams until we find out more. How? Maybe turn them upside down: The sixth place from the left and right in the upper row, the third place from left in the lower row, and the finishing element, the last one in the lower row:
Have you found the missing elements? Great. One of them is already in the line though.
But I don't like that the upper row is much longer than the lower.
Ok. Insert the three missing pieces to the seventh place, from left and right:
We had just three of them... never mind.
Are we finished yet? Let me think. The Early Heaven core hexagrams are in the seventh place now. And we had two Later Heaven core hexagrams on the sixth place in the upper row, they should be neighbors now. Please take these two and put them to the second row.
Are you sure you took the good ones? One from left and one from right, simply can't miss it. But this way the second line will be too long, so put the initial middle elements rather back up to the upper row.
And where should I put these two? To the front of the second row, right after the first one. This way all Later Heaven core hexagrams will be in the second row.
Or not? Let me check it again. They are symmetrical, two in the first row in the sixth place left and right, the other two on the first and last place in the second row. Interesting. Okay, I really don't want to start it over from the beginning, so that concludes our operation.
We just have one final thing to do: Mirror the hexagram images, except the great ones.
Count them: Do we have all 64?

  1. Is this even remotely related to the I Ching, or are these paint chip samples I can use for my bathroom remodel?
